FAQs

Where are you based?

We’re based at Unit 116, 183 Anerley Road, SE20 8EF. If you’ve never been before, we’re down a narrow lane just off Anerley Road, opposite Betts Park. Look for the white sign that says “Anerley Works.” We’re a two minute walk from Anerley Station.

Do you have parking?

Yes, we have free parking right outside the studio, subject to how busy the car park is. You’re welcome to park for free outside.

Do you have shower facilities?

We don’t have on site shower facilities, as we’re based within Anerley Works. There are communal bathrooms just outside our unit, but no showers. Most people train and head off as they are, or build sessions into their day around that.

Do you have any partnerships or member perks?

Yes, we do. We’re partnered with LSKD and Puresport. If you’re a member with us, you’re entitled to 10% off both.

What does women centred mean?

Built is a women centred training space, which means we design our programming, environment, and community around the needs, experiences, and realities of women.

It’s not for us to question how anyone identifies. If you identify as a woman, or if ‘women centred’ feels like it applies to you, you are very welcome to train here.

We also want everyone to feel seen and respected, so if you have preferred pronouns, please feel free to let us know.

How early do I need to get there?

We suggest trying to arrive about five minutes early. Please be mindful that we don’t have an official reception area. For lift classes, you can wait on our mezzanine upstairs or on the blue bench outside, depending on the weather. For reformer classes, you’ll need to wait outside until the teacher opens the door. We ask that you don’t knock if the door is closed, as they’re likely doing a cool down.

What do I need for the lift room?

Just bring yourself. We provide water, but feel free to bring a bottle if you prefer. Layers are always a good idea so you can take something off or put something on depending on the class.

We have a no shoe policy for the majority of our classes. However, if you’re doing a conditioning class, due to the more explosive or dynamic nature of some of the exercises, we may ask you to wear trainers for safety once you’re into the main portion of the class. As a general rule, it’s shoes off, especially on our mats.

What do I need for reformer?

Shoes off as well, and you must wear grip socks. You can bring your own or purchase some when you arrive. We are card only and do not take cash.

Can I bring a guest?

We ask that you don’t bring guests to classes. Built is an adults only training space.

We do understand that some of you may have the occasional childcare issue, and we support caregivers as a neighbourhood studio. Children are only permitted under our childcare guidelines. Please make sure you follow these rules carefully:

  • Children must be aged 7 or over and must be booked in advance by emailing the studio so we can confirm whether it’s appropriate for that class and time.

  • Children are not permitted in the Reformer Room or on the Lift Room Floor at any time.

  • Children must stay in the designated waiting area/mezzanine and cannot be on the training floor. Please note - this space is NOT supervised.

  • Children must be able to sit quietly and independently for the full duration of the class.

  • Children must not distract the coach or other clients.

  • You are fully responsible for the safety of your child at all times. Built Studios, its coaches, and the owners do not take responsibility for safeguarding your child while they are in the space.

  • Any damage caused by your child is your responsibility.

  • You must arrive at least five minutes early to get your child settled and to ensure you can start your class on time.

  • For reformer classes, you cannot use the middle door to enter the Lift Room while a class is in progress.

  • We may refuse entry or ask you to leave if we feel it isn’t safe or suitable on the day.

What kind of memberships do you offer?

You can start with an intro if you’d like to try a class. We also offer Built For You if you need more care, individualisation, and attention. We have recurring monthly memberships as well.

Are you on ClassPass?

Yes, we are on ClassPass. ClassPass operates a dynamic pricing system, so we can’t guarantee what they’ll charge you and we have no control over that. If you want the best value and earlier access to class bookings, it’s always better to book directly with us.

When do bookings open?

Bookings open two weeks in advance.

What’s the cancellation/no-show policy?

Our cancellation + no show window is 12 hours. If you cancel inside that window, you’ll lose your class credit and be charged a £10 late cancellation fee. Our classes are small, and one or two no shows makes a big difference to a six person class.

If something happens that’s genuinely outside your control, we’ll look at it on a case by case basis and may reimburse the fee or return the credit at our discretion.
