STRENGTH LAB SESSIONS

STRENGTH LAB

Our Strength Lab Sessions have the capacity of 6 people max, as they are centred around a large lift, such as a barbell back squat, and therefore are more technical, slower in pace, but lifts will be heavier. These sessions are perfect if you are looking to refine technique or working towards PBs.

Strength Lab Sessions are also pregnancy and postnatal friendly.

POSTNATAL STRENGTH LAB

For the strong comeback. Suitable from 6 weeks PP, we will rebuild strength from the foundations up. Week one of every month will start with breathwork, core connection and posterior chain. Week two will incorporate unilateral work and mind muscle connection. Week three will introduce progressive overload and supersets. Week four will explore higher intensity work.

Please note: you can drop in at any point, however consistency is key. As the months go on the programme stays the same however your strength, fitness and technique improves.

Classes are baby friendly.

How do I know what day to train?

For any strength based class we programme across a minimum 4 week cycle with a specific focus. That means we focus on a specific movement pattern or compound and then progress that across the cycle.

GROUP CLASSES

ASANA LAB

A strong yoga asana workshop style practice, utilising Built’s core strength principals. Across a 4 week period we will explore a peak pose within our practice, using strengthening exercises & drills within more traditional flow to build technique, precision and importantly strength in our peak pose.

SIGNATURE

While you won’t lift as heavy in Signature, the dynamic nature of the class means it can feel a little more intense. The pace is also quicker, which means less time to break things down technically. Therefore we suggest you have done some functional training prior to doing this class or at least 4 Strength Labs.

CALISTHENICS

Learn the art of the Beautiful Strength through mastering the bodyweight basics. Expect pull ups, push ups, parallel bars and ring work. Break down form and technique. Suitable for complete beginners and beyond - however we suggest that you are at least comfortable holding your own body weight in both a (modified) plank or on a dead hang from a bar.

STRENGTHCON

When you move fast you need to move well. StrengthCon is our cardiovascular class. We suggest that you know how to move safely, both using weights and body weight, prior to doing this class. We would you do at least 4-6 weeks of regular strength classes before participating - especially if you are a complete beginner, new to training, coming back from injury or have recently had a baby.

REFORMER PILATES

is a natural extension of our holistic approach to strength training, offering a new dimension to your movement journey. While we’re rooted in functional strength and weight training, Reformer Pilates complements and enhances this foundation, bringing balance to your body and mind.

THE CONCEPT

is designed to build precision, control and importantly, in line with our core values, strength. We prioritise real teaching over just telling, so you can understand how to move your body better - forever.

Our approach to reformer pilates is fully rounded and holistic, underpinning classical pilates with a more traditional approach. All of our classes will include at least one sequence involving props, including small weights, to create synergy between reformer, lift and life.

THE CLASSES

REFORMER FOUNDATIONS

Our beginner friendly class is sequenced specifically for beginners or for those of you returning to movement, post rehab or pre/postnatal. Designed so you can build both the strong foundations and strength you need to move safely, confidently and with precision.

SIGNATURE REFORMER

Our signature reformer class is multilayered and designed for all levels, however we would still advise taking 2-4 sessions, either at Built Studios or somewhere else, beforehand so you are familiar with the basics, such as setting up your Reformer and general cues. Expect a more dynamic session in your favourite teacher's signature style.

IS SMALLER REALLY BETTER?


In this case. Yes. More often than not group exercise classes are overcrowded and overpopulated. Your coach doesn’t see you, let alone know your name. You never learn anything, so you chase calories burned instead as a sign that it’s been a good work out. You leave feeling more beaten up than built up.

We refuse to do that. Our priority is you and your experience. We want you to feel like a part of this community, not just another face in the crowd. That’s the real boutique experience.

So yes, in this case: smaller is better. This isn’t quantity over quality fitness. This is putting a real premium on your body, your health and your overall well-being fitness.

Our aim is to create a space where women feel safe, strong and excited to train, yet confident to fail (a lift!). Within these four walls, expect to build not just your body, your confidence or your knowledge - but a sense of camaraderie with other likeminded women.
